Itinerary

DAY 1 – Uyuni Salt Flats + Sunset

Departure: 10:30 a.m. from SALTY DESERT office

  • Depart in a 4×4 Toyota Land Cruiser or Nissan Patrol.

  • Train Cemetery: See old rusting locomotives from Bolivia’s mining era.

  • Colchani Village: Visit the artisanal salt refinery and learn about the salt-processing and iodization process.

  • Enter the Uyuni Salt Flats, visiting:

    • Salt piles

    • Salt Eyes (natural water holes)

    • Playa Blanca Salt Hotel Museum (lunch included)

  • Enjoy perspective and mirror-effect photos in the middle of the salt flats.

  • Admire a stunning sunset on the edge of the salt flats.

  • Return to Uyuni and spend the night in a hostel (private room, shared bathroom, 2–3 people per room).

  • Dinner included.

DAY 2 – Colored Lagoons + Flamingos + Rock Formations

Departure: 7:30 a.m. after breakfast

  • Visit Condor Rock.

  • Continue to the spectacular colored lagoons where flamingos can be observed:

    • Laguna Cañapa

    • Laguna Hedionda

    • Laguna Chiarkota

  • Lunch included.

  • Visit the Black Lagoon (Laguna Turquiri).

  • Return to Uyuni and stay again in a private room (shared bathroom).

  • Dinner included.

DAY 3 – Tomave Hot Springs + Kasilla Lagoon

Departure: 9:00 a.m.

  • Drive to Tomave Village, observing llamas along the way.

  • Relax in the Tomave Hot Springs (lunch included).

  • Continue to Kasilla Lagoon, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and volcanic rock formations.

  • Return to Uyuni around 6:00 p.m.

Optional:
Buses to Chile (San Pedro de Atacama) are available the next day.
