Red Lagoon is a breeding place for Andean flamingos migratory birds that count by thousands in their mineral rich waters. It is located inside the National Reserve of Andean Fauna Eduardo Abaroa, Bolivia, in the high plateau potosino.

Geography

It has a maximum dimensions of 10.7 km long by 9.6 km wide with an area of ​​54 km² and an average depth of 35 cm. It is considered a lagoon of high Andean-saline type, in addition it contains islands of Borax in the sectors Northeast and Southeast. It has a coastal perimeter of 35 kilometers.
